Harford County, Maryland is home of the Aberdeen Proving Ground and is bordered by Pennsylvania to the north, Baltimore County to the west, the Chesapeake Bay to the south, and the Susquehanna River to the east.
Harford County Public Schools operate all public schools in the County. The system is divided into Elementary (Grades K-5), Middle (Grades 6-8), and High (Grades 9-12) Schools. There is also the John Archer School which serves students with special needs. There are 33 Elementary, 10 Middle, and 11 High Schools operated by the public school system. The Board of Education is moving from appointed members to an elected-appointed membership.
